A simple wardrobe of jeans, boots and cotton shirts is a far cry from the elegant clothes Linda Evans wears on “Dynasty.”

Yet that was her basic wardrobe for “The Last Frontier,” a four-hour miniseries to be telecast Sunday and Tuesday nights on CBS (9-11 both nights). She plays an American woman who marries an Australian rancher and takes over his homestead after his death.

Evans didn’t worry about forsaking her glamorous “Dynasty” image. “I felt it wouldn’t make sense to use my hiatus from ‘Dynasty’ just to play a similar character with all the jewelry and lavish settings,” she said.

“The Last Frontier” setting is mostly the Australian Outback, where Evans’ co-stars include Jason Robards and Jack Thompson.
