“Gulliver.” Soundwings. DDD. In this setting for reader and orchestra of two of the best-known adventures from “Gulliver’s Travels,” TV-film composer Patrick Williams has fashioned a richly textured score (sumptuously played by the Royal Philharmonic) that is perfectly matched to Larry Gelbart’s compact, gracefully written retellings of our hero’s visits to Lilliput and Brobdingnag (brilliantly interpreted by Sir John Gielgud). Both the letter and spirit of Swift’s classic are successfully captured in this inspired and inspiring collaboration. The sound is ravishing. A treat for young and old. Information: (213) 870-2989.
