Workers returned to their jobs at 11 California wineries that had been struck for up to seven weeks. The strikers accepted a new contract after the Winery Employers Assn. threatened to replace 2,200 union workers with non-union labor if the strike continued. Members of the Distillery, Wine and Allied Workers Union previously rejected the same offer, which calls for an average $1 hourly reduction in pay and benefits.
