Political Contributions to Rep. Dreier

Share

From the first reading of the story about Rep. David Dreier (R-La Verne) on Sept. 25, it would appear that he is “on the take.” He is taking money from a large group of finance companies, few, if any, in his district, and they are expecting something in return. They have many stockholders and the stockholders usually demand that when their money is spent there is a good return.

Usually congressmen say that such people are “getting access,” but why do they have to spend money to do that? Do all his constituents in and around La Verne have to pay to get in his door? Sounds incredible.

It was understood that a person was elected to Congress to serve the people in his district. But Dreier seems intent on serving the private interest of well-heeled companies.
