Mike Rossman, a former light-heavyweight champion, was arrested in Atlantic City, N.J., and charged with extortion and making threats to try to collect a debt, authorities said.
Albert Michael DiPiano, 30, who fought using the name Rossman, was arraigned in Superior Court and charged with extortion and conspiracy to commit extortion.
DiPiano was also charged with making terroristic threats, in the form of promising to “break the legs” of the victim if he did not pay the remaining half of a $1,000 debt, according to Atlantic County Prosecutor Jeffrey Blitz.
