I applaud the staff of “Highway to Heaven.” The season opener addressed infertility and “special needs” adoption, two sensitive issues faced by many couples. I am a social worker for children in foster homes in need of adoption. Many of these children have been abused or neglected by their birth parents. We especially need parents who can offer homes to children age 6-plus, siblings and minority children. The season opener brought this concept to a large population. Even if one child finds his adoptive parents through this episode, the time and energy will have been well spent. Keep up the good work.
