The State : Freshman Sues Stanford

Share

A freshman who said he was beaten by other students during a rush party asked unspecified general and punitive damages from two fraternities, two students and Stanford University in a lawsuit filed in Santa Clara County Superior Court. David Curry, 18, said he got into an argument with students Randall Von Feldt and William McKelvy during rush week activities involving the Delta Upsilon and Sigma Chi fraternities April 11, and the argument became a fight in which, his attorney said, he “was beaten so badly they thought he was going to die.” Curry was taken to Stanford Hospital with broken ribs and a collapsed lung, and remained in intensive care for about two weeks.
