A father and son pleaded no contest on a total of 24 counts of violating health codes and building and safety codes at several rental properties they own in Wilmington. Inspectors reported rats, cockroaches, broken windows and guardrails and trash at a duplex owned by Victor Corpuz, 73, in the 1400 block of North Wilmington Boulevard. They also said they found rats, cockroaches, bad plumbing and exposed wiring at another duplex owned by Samuel Corpuz, 45, in the same block, and similar conditions at the younger man’s buildings in the 900 and 1000 blocks of Island Avenue. Los Angeles Municipal Court Commissioner Barry Kohn ordered both men to return Nov. 24 for sentencing.
