A Massachusetts couple arrested last summer on a crowded San Clemente beach for kissing their toddler’s rump sued the city and Police Chief Kelson McDaniel. Police arrested Eduoardo and Yvonne DiAngelis on June 15 after a witness said she saw them molesting their 13-month-old son. The parents were arrested and the boy, Cairo, was placed in an Orange County facility for juveniles. Yvonne DiAngelis, 20, was a nursing mother and claims she was ordered to remove her clothes and was left in a “bare cell in a soaking wet paper smock for more than 12 hours,” according to the suit filed in Los Angeles federal court. The parents eventually were released and no charges were filed. The suit alleges the police “falsely . . . accused (the couple) of child molestation and abuse and sexual crimes.” The couple are seeking a minimum of $2 million in damages. City officials declined comment.
