McLEAN, WINANT WILL BE HONORED BY CASTING GROUP

Two honorary awards will be presented to Owen McLean and Ethel Winant from the Casting Society of America at the second Artios Awards luncheon Oct. 29.

McLean, recipient of the Hoyt Bowers Award for outstanding contribution to the casting profession, has worked more than 45 years in the industry and was involved in casting for such films as “South Pacific”, “A Letter to Three Wives” and “Diary Of Anne Frank.”

Already a two-time Emmy winner, Winant received a special award for outstanding contribution to the entertainment industry and the casting process. her career began with Broadway productions of “Streetcar Named Desire” and “Death of a Salesman” followed by executive positions with CBS and NBC. She has been vice president of program development and talent for “The Children’s Television Workshop” and served on the California Arts Council and the President’s Task Force for Women.
