The Iraqi government took a group of Baghdad-based correspondents to the northern city of Kirkuk to disprove Iran's claim that its forces smashed oil installations there, the Iraqi news agency reported. Iran had said commando units assisted by Iraqi Kurdish guerrillas penetrated 100 miles into Iraq and destroyed the Kirkuk oil refinery, three oil and gas separation plants, an air base and other targets in Kirkuk on Friday. The Iraqi news agency said the reporters "witnessed normal life and operations at the oil installations."
