Medical Students Strike Over Safety in Beirut

BEIRUT —
Striking first-year medical students closed off-campus programs of the American University of Beirut today, demanding the transfer of their courses to Christian East Beirut.
The Christian students said they called the strike because they are unable to safely cross the Green Line to attend classes at the main campus in Muslim East Beirut.
