Colorado Gov. Richard Lamm has announced a proposal to build a U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame on a 150-acre site in Colorado Springs.
The proposal will be presented to the United States Olympic Committee in November at Reno. Bill Tutt, chairman of the Hall of Fame committee, said $20 million is needed for the Olympic Committee to consider putting the Hall of Fame in Colorado.
Since April, a task force has received pledges for $17.5 million but must raise another $2.5 million in the next 35 days, he said.
