‘A Likely Story’ in Nicaragua
The same kind of conspiracy that led to America’s fiasco in Vietnam (the Gulf of Tonkin “incident,” only among others) is re-emerging in Nicaragua.
While Americans and our Congress idly watch, our government is quietly leading us into another war--a war in Central America that will cost untold lives, millions of dollars and another generation of “alienated Americans.”
The Times, for once, is absolutely correct its “A Likely Story” editorial.
It’s time for Americans to demand that Congress gets tough.
If we don’t, the Reagan Administration will lead us down a yellow brick road into disaster.
