Mormon Chief Has Bypass

SALT LAKE CITY — Howard W. Hunter, acting president of the Mormon Church’s Council of the Twelve, was in fair condition Thursday after open heart surgery, church officials said. Hunter, 78, underwent coronary bypass surgery at LDS Hospital.
