Evelyn Troup, 82; Noted Psychologist

Evelyn Troup, a psychologist known for her work with public schools, colleges and universities throughout the United States, has died.
A memorial service for the New York-born mental health worker and teacher will be held Thursday at Forest Lawn Memorial-Park, Glendale. She was 82 when she died Tuesday at her Los Angeles home.
Although in private practice for many years, she was best known for her specialty of determining appropriate schools for students of all ages.
She either taught or was a consultant to such schools as the Claremont Colleges, California State University, Los Angeles, the University of the State of New York at Buffalo and several public school systems.
Troup, who earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Columbia University, worked with both gifted children and those with learning disabilities.
A scholarship fund to assist such students has been established in her name. Donations can be sent to 1414 Club View Drive, Los Angeles 90024.
