ON THE BOSS BEAT: We’ve been hearing a lot about Bruce Springsteen’s long-awaited five-record concert album (“Live: 1975-1985”), but no one at CBS Records has been saying what songs made the final cut for the Christmas release. However, several hard-core Boss fans have provided us with a sneak preview of the song list from the records, which go in chronological order. As far as we can tell, there’s only one song from Springsteen’s 1975 tour, an acoustic version of “Thunder Road.” After that, we get a selection of at least 10 songs circa 1978, including “Spirit in the Night,” “Growing Up,” “Back Streets,” “Rosalita,” “Raise a Hand” (a popular Eddie Floyd encore tune) and “Paradise by the Sea,” an instrumental show-opener from the 1978 tour. Eight songs come from the 1980-81 tour, including “Hungry Heart, “Cadillac Ranch,” “Independence Day” and “Darkness on the Edge of Town.” And there’s 20 numbers from Springsteen’s most recent tour, including “Nebraska,” “The River,” “Cover Me,” “My Home Town” and “This Land Is Your Land,” plus an acoustic version of “No Surrender” and Edwin Starr’s “War,” which comes from the tour-ending concerts at the Coliseum.
