High blood pressure is often called the “silent killer” because the disease--which can lead to strokes and heart attacks--usually has no symptoms.

An estimate 60 million Americans have high blood pressure, but nearly one half of then do not know it, according to Merck Sharp & Dohme Research Laboratories.
