California Commerce Project Under Way

Cadillac Fairview Industrial Development Inc. has started construction on an $11-million, two warehouse/building centers in California Commerce Center which is part of the Port of Long Beach Foreign Trade Zone and adjacent to Ontario International Airport.

When completed in March at the southwest corner of Dupont Avenue and Santa Ana Street, the first facility on 8.5 acres will have 175,000 square feet of office and warehouse space. Richard Chan Associates of Whittier is the architect and Incentive Builders of Buena Park is the general contractor; Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate Service City of Industry office is the leasing agent.

The second facility, to be built for $5 million on a seven-acre site directly south of the first building, will be under way in February and will encompass 150,000 square feet with 24 truck doors. Both facilities are concrete tilt-up structures suitable for two-tenant occupancy.

Located at the intersection of Interstate 10 and California 31 and served by both the Southern Pacific and Union Pacific railroads, California Commerce Center, now in its second phase, is being developed by Ontario Industrial Partners, a joint venture of Cadillac Fairview Industrial Development Inc., John D. Lusk & Son and Shaw & Talbot Associates II.
