Stadium Area Offices Increase

More than 7 million square feet of new office space in the Anaheim Stadium area is being constructed or scheduled for construction, according to a survey released by the Orange County commercial brokerage firm, McCarter-Burke.

The stadium area now has an inventory of 2.4 million square feet of office space in buildings over 30,000 square feet, with an additional 1.4 million square feet of comparable-size office buildings under construction or recently completed, said Kenneth Hulbert, vice president of McCarter-Burke’s north Orange County office. An additional 750,000 square feet is planned for construction within the next 12-months, he said.

The vacancy rate in the area is about 11%, compared to a rate of about 20% in the south Orange County/Airport area.

“It’s just no longer economically feasible for industrial users to stay in the stadium area,” said Hulbert. “Most of the industrial space has moved south or into the Corona area.”
