Gregory W. Catt has been appointed vice president/division manager of Property Management Systems’ Southern California Operations. Catt will manage 7 million square feet of commercial, industrial and residential space in Los Angeles and Orange counties for the Houston-based firm.

Robert B. McLeod has been named president of Genstar Land-USA, La Jolla, succeeding Frank D. Dembinsky, who has retired. Previously the firm’s executive vice president, he will oversee Genstar’s five land development divisions in California, Texas, Florida, Washington and Arizona.

James Gleason, a 15-year veteran of the construction industry, has been appointed vice president at Katell Properties Inc., a Torrance-based building firm, where he will coordinate all construction activities. Gleason previously served as an executive with the W & W Co., a subsidiary of Watt Industries.

Charles T. Corwin, Emmanoel T. Francisco and Ronald O. Van Pelt have been elected associates of Wimberly Whisenand Allison Tong & Goo.

Jay Carnahan has been named vice president of marketing for Transpacific Development Co., Costa Mesa, and will direct the firm’s Orange County leasing operations from its regional office at South Coast Metro Center. Carnahan was a broker with Cushman & Wakefield during the past six years.

David J. Mesa has been appointed director of architecture for Tanzmann Associates, Los Angeles. In his new role, Mesa will direct the firm’s projects in health care, housing, education, hotels and public facilities.

Lonnie P. Nadal has been named a partner for the Irvine commercial/industrial office of Lincoln Property Co. He joined the firm in 1983.

Joe Mark, formerly a senior investment consultant with Cushman & Wakefield’s Financial Services Group, has joined with Rothschild & Co. in forming Venmar Associates, a brokerage firm specializing in retail properties, with offices at 2029 Century Park East, Suite 600, Los Angeles.

Tom Conant, an eight-year veteran of residential sales and marketing, has joined Topa Management Co., Los Angeles, as director of residential management.

Howard Matlow and Ken Kennedy of Matlow-Kennedy Group have been selected as the 1986 Men of the Year by Los Angeles Men’s ORT (Organization for Rehabilitation Through Training), in recognition of their service and leadership in the community.

Steven L. MacKay of Torrance has been awarded the highest designation accorded by the National Assn. of Master Appraisers in receiving the Master Senior Appraiser (MSA) designation.

Bob Kolodinsky has been named a partner in the real estate firm of Walsh & Chacon, San Diego. He recently served as vice president of Taylor Lawson Development of La Jolla.

John W. Bodenburg has been appointed as regional sales manager for the Southern California Region of Norris, Beggs & Simpson, Newport Beach.

Joseph A. Valverde of La Habra has been appointed a member of the Contractors State License Board by Gov. George Deukmejian. He is president and general manager of Valverde Construction Inc.

David Hughes has joined the Los Angeles office of Howard Tammen Needles & Bergendoff Architects as director of interior design.

Gail Schwartz, director of marketing for the Nadel Partnership, Santa Monica, has been promoted to partnership associate in the firm.
