Ticket sales for the 1987 Pan American Games have surpassed $2 million in two months, organizers announced.

“We’re still going strong,” said Mark Miles, president of PAX-Indianapolis, organizing group for the event. “The $2-million figure does not include a flood of orders received in the past two days.”

The total also does not include an expected large number of mail orders postmarked on the deadline for orders to be included in a random selection process used for sold out sessions. Orders postmarked after that will be filled as they are received, but they will not be eligible for the special drawing.

Miles said at least a few tickets remain available for all 394 sessions, including the popular basketball, swimming and track finals.

“There are still tickets available for every session of every event in all of the sports, but the better seats are going fast. By the end of the week, the best seats in some of the most popular events will be committed,” Miles said.
