Army experts identified weapons that drifted ashore at Jupiter Island, Fla., as fuses for Soviet 122-millimeter rockets, but who owned the devices and where they were headed remained mysteries. Officials closed beaches where the weapons washed ashore in crates Saturday, said Palm Beach County sheriff’s spokesman Michael McNamee. “It appears that it is some type of clandestine or illegal type of shipment,” said Robert Neumann, agent in charge of the FBI’s West Palm Beach office.
