Tiffany Chin and Brian Boitano of the United States won their respective divisions in the Skate America competition at Portland, Me.

Chin, 19, of Toluca Lake, won the women’s final, finishing ahead of Tonya Harding of Portland, Ore., and Agnes Gosselin of France.

Boitano won the men’s final with a dazzling performance that held off Victor Petrenko of the Soviet Union.

Kate Keeley and Joseph Mero of Costa Mesa came from behind to edge Ludmila Kobrova and Andrey Kalitin of the Soviet Union in the pairs competition.

Isabelle and Paul Duchesnay of France won the ice dancing.
