Anti-Porn Plan Due Today, Meese Says
A federal plan to combat the importation and distribution of pornography will be unveiled today, U.S. Atty. Gen. Edwin Meese III said Tuesday.
Meese, who was lecturing at Tulane University on the Constitution, declined to give details about the plan, but said it is based on recommendations in the 1,960-page report on pornography by the Meese Commission, issued in July, 14 months after the study was begun.
The Administration plan will “respond to all, or most of, the recommendations made in regard to the federal government and how the federal government can work with local and state governments in implementing a plan,” Meese said.
