Pepitone Gets 6 Months in Jail

NEW YORK —
Former New York Yankee slugger Joe Pepitone was sentenced to six months in jail on two misdemeanor drug charges today by a judge who implied he had disgraced his former uniform.
State Supreme Court Justice Alan Marrus, calling Pepitone, 46, a Bronx bomber who is now “a Brooklyn criminal,” said, “Once a first-rate baseball player, Mr. Pepitone now stands before this court as a second-rate drug operator.”
