William P. Conlin, president of CalComp, has been named a vice president of Lockheed Corp.
Lockheed’s Information Systems Group recently acquired CalComp, an Anaheim maker of computer graphics products. Conlin was hired as CalComp’s president in 1983 and before that was a senior vice president of Sanders Associates, CalComp’s former parent company.
Over the previous 23 years, Conlin held a number of management positions with Burroughs’ Industry Systems Group in Detroit, Mich., and most recently served as its president.
A Lockheed spokesman said that the heads of its acquired firms are normally installed as Lockheed vice presidents soon after the mergers are final. He also said that Conlin will continue to serve as president of CalComp.
