California Politics: Campaign News in Brief : Women Take Aim at Curb’s ‘Dirty Dozen’

“In the business,” film producer Lila Garrett said, “they are known as Mike Curb’s dirty dozen.”

Garrett, representing the Hollywood Women’s Political Committee, joined Los Angeles City Council President Pat Russell, Commission Femenil de Los Angeles President Carmen Luna and Georgia Mercer of Women For in castigating former Lt. Gov. Mike Curb for his involvement in making 12 films featuring drugs, violence and rape.

Their joint message, delivered during a press conference at the Greater Los Angeles Press Club, was that Curb’s involvement in the films calls his judgment into question.

But Curb campaign manager Fred Karger demurred.

Some of those supposed “dirty dozen” films, he said, feature well-known film stars . . . and have a G rating.
