Ferry replaces Paul Ziffren, a senior partner with the law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in Los Angeles, who retired from the board last year.

Walter B. Gerken, chairman of Newport Beach-based Pacific Mutual, said that Ferry was chosen because of his extensive board room experience. Korn/Ferry International is the world’s largest executive search firm. It was established in Century City in 1969 and now has 37 offices and more than 1,200 clients worldwide.

Ferry is also a board member at various other companies including Avery International and Centex Corp. He is also a founding director of First Business Bank in Los Angeles and is a director of Insight, the inspirational television series.
