The FBI said it is investigating a convicted robber’s claim that he used false identities to get jobs at nuclear plants in California, New York, Michigan and Washington and eventually earned $60,000 a year as an inspector. Gary Lee McChain, 35, told the Idaho Falls Post-Register that he surrendered to the FBI on Tuesday at the agency’s office in Pocatello so that he could warn officials of bribery and drug use at commercial nuclear plant construction sites as well as of lax security that he claims makes the plants vulnerable to terrorists. He will be extradited to Colorado to face a parole violation charge.
