Filmation, a San Fernando Valley-based animated-film company owned by Westinghouse Broadcasting Co. Inc., has completed a move to a 65,000-square-foot headquarters building at 6464 Canoga Ave., Woodland Hills.

In addition to that four-story building, gutted and remodeled at a cost of more than $2 million, Filmation will continue to use an existing 11,000-square-foot building at 6416 Variel Ave., Woodland Hills.

Filmation, founded in 1962, reports it is the largest firm producing animated films solely in this country for worldwide theatrical and television release. It employs nearly 40% of the members of the animators union.
