Wateridge Pavilion Wins ASLA President’s Award

The top honor of the San Diego chapter, American Society of Landscape Architects--the President’s Award of Excellence--went to Wateridge Pavilion, an Equidon project, with landscape architecture by DeWeese Burton Associates.

The presentation of the award and 17 other Honor and Merit awards at the Meridian in downtown San Diego was hosted by Emmet L. Wemple, professor of architecture at USC and president of Emmet L. Wemple & Associates, Los Angeles.

Honor Awards went to Rams Hill Resort Development by DiGiacome Development Corp., Halsey Design Group Inc., landscape architects; Jacobs residence, Dr. and Mrs. Irwin Jacobs, landscape architecture by Stone Fischer & Associates; Lake Park by Dean Vickery, landscape architecture by Kawasaki Theilack & Associates, and Harbor Drive Redevelopment by San Diego Unified Port District, landscape architecture by Parctec.

The following 13 Merit Award Winners were recognized for excellence in eight separate landscape categories:

Classic Design: Sea World Phase I; Wimmer Yamada and Associates; Sea World.

Land and Water Reclamation and Conservation: Rancho Sorrento; DeWeese Burton Associates; The Hooberman Group.
