Dynatem Inc. Reports Loss in First Quarter

Dynatem Inc. of Irvine said it lost $72,974 for the first quarter of its fiscal 1987, contrasted with net earnings of $58,340 a year earlier. Sales for the period ended Aug. 31 were $373,380, down 39.6% from $618,157.

Youry DeSwert, the company’s president, blamed the loss on a spending slowdown by customers.

“A lot of the orders we had on the books have been pushed further up” into the year because of the slowdown, DeSwert said.

He said he believes that the company will begin shipping orders again in the third quarter of the year.
