Investigators in Japan have determined that explosives planted in the toilet of a Thai International Airways jet ruptured the rear bulkhead and sent the plane into a 21,000-foot dive, injuring 62 people, the Kyodo News Service and the public television networ NHK reported. “There is a strong possibility that a small bomb had been brought into the aircraft,” Kyodo quoted police as saying. The French-built Airbus A-300 with 247 aboard was flying from Bangkok to Osaka via Manila. It made an emergency landing at Osaka.
