WASHINGTON — The Labor Department proposed today that the Chrysler Corp. be fined $910,000 for allegedly disregarding federal record-keeping requirements about employee injuries at its assembly plant at Belvidere, Ill.
The department said it found 182 violations of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s record-keeping requirements at the plant from January, 1985, to April, 1986. The department said it had begun “a comprehensive occupational safety and health inspection” at the plant, where about 3,900 people work.
