‘Lucy,’ Burstyn Shows Pulled

ABC is pulling Lucille Ball’s new comedy show and its even lower-rated partner on Saturday night, “The Ellen Burstyn Show,” off the air, Brandon Stoddard, president of ABC Entertainment, said today.
“Life With Lucy” and the Burstyn show will bow out Nov. 15, Stoddard said. “Lucy” marked Ball’s return to regular series television after an absence of 12 years. But her show was 71st out of 74 shows in the latest Nielsen rating and Burstyn’s show was 72nd. Stoddard said both shows will return to ABC at a later date but he gave no details.
