Taking the Bus to Wright Middle School

Share

I have recently read that many Agoura parents have been complaining that their graduating fifth-graders will be attending A.E. Wright Middle School instead of Lindero Canyon Middle School next fall. They seem to have fears of long bus rides and loss of friends.

I live in the West Hills neighborhood, and the elementary students here have been redistricted twice in the last eight years. We moved from Round Meadow Elementary to Lupin Hill Elementary and back to Round Meadow Elementary. I have been riding a school bus more than eight miles each way to school since I started kindergarten. At no time did it take more than one half-hour in either directions, nor was it unsafe.

I think that the Sumac children will adjust well if their parents have a positive and mature attitude. A.E. Wright Middle School is a wonderful campus. The teachers love and care for us--often helping students during lunch and after school. I know that the student body and faculty at A.E. Wright will welcome the Sumac students to a warm and friendly campus with three special years to remember.
