The federal Drug Enforcement Administration announced the arrests in Los Angeles of three men in a $1-million marijuana sting operation. All were charged with violation of federal drug laws and are expected to be extradited to Hawaii, where the negotiations and investigation were initiated. Charged were Dennis Ingram, Everett Worthington and William Max Dawson Jr. Charges against a fourth man were dropped. Ingram is being held without bail. Bail for Worthington was set at $500,000 and for Dawson at $25,000. DEA Agent Joe Brzostowski said Ingram and Worthington negotiated the purchase of 1,000 pounds of marijuana at $1,000 a pound from undercover agents. The two men were arrested when they delivered $450,000 in cash to the agents. As part of the bust, U.S. marshals on the island of Kauai seized a vessel, Infinity, a 109-foot ocean-going motor sailer, which was to be used as part of a security payment package.
