Downey : Teacher Ideas Funded
The Downey Unified School District approved funds for 26 proposals for the district’s Classroom Teacher Instructional Improvement Program. The district received $52,000 this year from the state Department of Education for the proposals.
The proposals--which provide up to $2,000 per teacher for creative ideas that improve teaching--range from science kits for elementary students to a “hands-on” approach to oceanography for high school students. The funds are restricted to full-time, certificated teachers.
