Paul Watson, Canadian leader of the environmentalist Sea Shepherd group, said Wednesday that the group will soon sabotage Norway’s whaling industry.

Watson said in separate interviews with an Oslo newspaper and Norwegian radio that detailed plans have been drawn up.

Sea Shepherd has claimed responsibility for scuttling two Icelandic whaling ships and attacking a whaling station near Reykjavik last weekend.

“Our aim is to stop all whaling, and when Norway will not follow international decisions, then we have to use tough methods,” he said.

Norway earlier this year announced that it was giving up commercial whaling but would continue to make scientific catches of North Atlantic Minke whales.

Norwegian radio reported that police have tightened security at whaling ports and whaling stations in preparation for any attacks.
