UAL is considering a bid for a Transworld unit.

Chairman Richard T. Ferris said the company, the parent of United Airlines and the Westin hotel chain, has not decided whether to make a bid for the Hilton International hotel chain, which is owned by Transworld Corp. The chain has 88 hotels, mostly overseas. “We’re still looking at the numbers,” Ferris said. He also told analysts in New York that UAL’s 1987 results will be “considerably better” than this year’s.
