San Diego
Municipal Court Judge Wayne L. Peterson was appointed to the San Diego County Superior Court on Wednesday by Gov. George Deukmejian.
The promotion for Peterson, 48, fills the vacancy created when Judge Wesley Buttermore Jr. retired.
Deukmejian appointed Peterson, who had been a partner in the San Diego law firm of Platt, Tebbetts & Peterson, to the Municipal Court bench in January, 1984. Peterson was briefly employed as a prosecutor with the San Diego County district attorney’s office and has worked as a research attorney for the 4th District Court of Appeal.
Superior Court judges earn $81,505 annually.
