Jim Gattis of Woodland Hills has been named manager of the North Pole Nicks, a semipro summer league baseball team in the Alaskan League, general manager John Lohrke announced.
Gattis, an assistant coach at Pepperdine, was a No. 1 draft choice of the Atlanta Braves in 1974 after graduating from North Hollywood High.
