Stealth Model

“Tempest in a Toy Box” (by Paul Ciotti, Oct. 19) implies that there was no valid national-security objection to the marketing of the so-called F-19 “stealth” fighter model aircraft because any information that might be derived from it was already available to the public in general and to the Soviet Union in particular.

I think that you are wrong, and I think that the Testor Co. was wrong to market the model. If the fighter exists and if the model is accurate, it doesn’t make any difference that the information may be available from other sources. There is no excuse for handing it to our enemies in a tidy package.
