Computer Memories Ekes Out a Small Profit

Computer Memories, a Chatsworth company that is liquidating assets, reported a profit of $245,000, or 2 cents a share, on revenue of $248,000 for its second quarter ended Sept. 30.

The company’s interest income and tax benefits accounted for most of the earnings, offsetting an operating loss of $318,000. A year earlier, the company posted a profit of $2.8 million, or 25 cents a share, on revenue of $39.2 million.

For the six months ended Sept. 30, Computer Memories earned $256,000, or 2 cents a share, on revenue of $4.5 million. A year earlier, it earned $7.6 million, or 69 cents a share, on revenue of $89.7 million.
