Two Jordanians on trial in West Berlin in the bombing of a German-Arab club there were “tools” of Syria and a terrorist convicted of a foiled attempt to bomb an Israeli airliner in London, the court was told. Prosecutor Detlev Mehlis said evidence showed that defendants Ahmed Nawaf Mansour Hasi and Farouk Salameh acted on orders of Nezar Hindawi when they bombed the club on March 29. Hindawi, Hasi’s brother, is serving a 45-year term for the airliner bomb plot. Mehlis asked for sentences of 14 years for Hasi and 13 years for Salameh.
