Charles D. Miller, chairman and chief executive officer of Avery International, has been elected to the board of directors of Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Co., filling out the Newport Beach insurance and financial service company’s 16-member policy-making group.
In addition to his new post with Pacific Mutual, Miller is a board member of Great Western Financial Corp. and Beverly Investment Properties Inc. He also is second vice chairman of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors, is a member of the executive committee of the California Business Roundtable and serves as a trustee on the boards of Johns Hopkins University and Occidental College.
Miller, 58, replaces the late J. W. Mailliard III, who died in August.
Pacific Mutual, a member of Pacific Financial Cos., is California’s oldest and largest mutual insurance firm with more than $29 billion of life insurance in force.
