Westminster : Police Teams Will Be Out to Curb Drunk Driving
Special police enforcement teams will launch a monthlong crackdown on drunk and drugged drivers beginning Monday, authorities said.
Police Department spokeswoman Julie D. Newell said several teams will be deployed throughout the city on various evenings each week.
Streets and major commercial centers will be monitored, Newell said, and special emphasis will be given to intersections where the greatest number of accidents involving drunk drivers have occurred.
“This will be our effort to reduce deaths and needless permanent injuries,” Newell said. “Our goal is to arrest drunks and make it a safer holiday season for everyone.”
