Cocaine Valued at $44.1 Million Found

MIAMI —
Federal agents confiscated $44.1 million in cocaine found in flower boxes aboard an Avianca Airlines flight at Miami International Airport, officials said today.
The cocaine, found in four flower boxes aboard an Avianca plane from Bogota, Colombia, was discovered Thursday, U.S. Customs spokeswoman Kitty Pryor said.
“We found 294 pounds of cocaine in the four boxes,” Pryor said. “It’s worth about $150,000 a pound.”
