Society : Tustin Women Show What Stars Are Made Of

Share

While most fashion shows are strictly women’s affairs, the Tustin Area Women’s Club’s recent “Crystal Christmas” show saw husbands everywhere--transporting sets, zipping around with cameras and swapping jokes.

The reason? The women starred in their own show--a slick, sophisticated production with timely pacing and choreography staged at the Disneyland Hotel.

The models, members of Mannequins--a group within the club, began their parade to an upbeat number, “Here We Are.”

And there they were: Pat Kemper in black velvet belted with gold lame, Carole Bergstrom in white satin slacks and angora sweater, and “G. J.” Davis in a purple strapless gown paired with gold jacket and Libby Buckley in a red pantsuit swaying with fringe.

The show, attended by 500, raised about $10,000, according to Mannequin chairman Barbara Sabatino.

Proceeds will go toward the group’s scholarship fund, among other causes.

The club, with 325 members, dates back to 1958. Barbara O’Donnell is president. Carol Rush was event chairman.
